Meet and great at Nairobi airport with hotel transfer and briefing. The rest of the day free.


Up on arrival to Nairobi airport you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. At that point you will receive our client-envelope containing all important travel documents for services that we have booked for you, as well you will have a chance to chat about your itinerary and other points of interest that you may wish to know about - make the most of our knowledge and ask all the questions you can think of! Depending on the time of your arrival to Nairobi, you will have the rest of the day free.

If you wish to explore round Nairobi and visit some of it's attractions, it is best to spend another overnight at Nairobi. We have put together Nairobi Excursion list, inclusive points of interest like:

  • David Sheldrick Wildlife trust, where orphaned elephants are raised and introduced back to the wild
  • Giraffe Centre where you can observe and hand-feed Rothschild’s giraffes, a very endangered spices in Africa
  • Karen Blixen museum, lovely colonial house where Karen, author of famous “Out of Africa” lived, has been preserved as a museum. (Enquire)

Nairobi - Maji Moto Village

Start your safari. Travel to Maji Moto via Narok town. Afternoon guided Maasai culture and nature walk on Loita Hills.


08.00h - Our driver-guide will meet you at the reception of your hotel to take you out on safari. Your adventure starts here! Drive North-West, out of Nairobi via Great Rift Valley-Escarpment into the land of Maasai tribesman. Nestled on a hilltop deep in Maasai lands and overlooking vast savannah plains, Maji Moto Eco Camp is a small, environmentally-sensitive retreat. Operated by Maasai people from the nearby village of Maji Moto, a stay here will immerse you not only in the intense natural beauty of the Loita Hills, but also in the ancient culture and knowledge of the Maasai. Afternoon spent in camp orientation, guided nature walk and cultural briefing with fire making "Maasai style" presentation followed by winding down the day with camp fire stories.After dinner, for those who prefer, Hot spring bath under the stars, can be visited. The name 'Maji Moto' means 'Hot Water', and this refers to the natural hot spring near the camp (1km). Surrounded by trees, a dip in the spring at evening is a refreshing way to soak away the days exertions.

Maji Moto Village

Full day spent on guided wildlife tracking safari on Loita Plains with Local-School visit. Afternoon descent on foot or on mountain-bike to village centre. Evening Maasai warrior training - Fun thing!

 

You will start early departing with packed lunch on foot to Loita Plains for Wildlife tracking Safari. These plains host numerous wildlife like: Giraffe, Wildebeest, Zebra, Eland… as well as many different bird species. Your local Maasai guide will be your field guide full of interesting facts of wildlife and nature that you will meet. While out on these walking-safari you'll visit the Local School too (If during school opening days!. Kids and Teachers are always happy to receive some presents from their visitors (you can bring pens & pencils, colours, books, blackboard-chock or even better - educational wall-posters like world-map, human-body, spelling and similar. The school is on primary level and the kids are from 5 to 12 years old). Afternoon spent enjoying the views and nature surrounding the camp or taking another walk down to village centre to check how life runs in these remote African village (on foot or with mountain-bikes). At evening hours - Maasai Warrior training; measuring skills in Sisal stick fighting, spear throwing and archery will be organized. Afterwards it is time to say good bye to your Maasai host.

Maji Moto Village - Loita Hills and Plains

Start with Trekking Adventure towards Masai Mara to spend days in African wilderness guided by local Maasai tribesman.

After breakfast, your "Walking with the Maasai - Trekking Adventure" towards Masai Mara begins.The paths will lead you through wide open savannas. The wildlife population here is occasional but you will definitely be rewarded by presence of gazelles, zebras and wildebeest on your way. You will be passing Masai settlements, learning about their lives and their relationship with nature and wildlife. Your bush-camp will be set in the forest, next to a natural spring. The position of the camp is perfect in complete privacy with a good chance to watch wild game like buffaloes, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe and elephants passing by. 

WALKING WITH THE MAASAI: Combine trekking and wildlife safari on foot into your own unique holiday and experience Africa with your Maasai guide in a traditional way – the real African way. On this trekking journey, you will experience pure adventure covering on foot approximately 10 to 20 km a day. (The routs can be slightly adjusted according to your physical strength). Throughout your journey, you will get the experience, learn and see the way of the Masai people in a totally unique way as these original inhabitants of the area will act as your guides, sharing with you their knowledge and stories of the areas you’ll pass. The journey comes with full vehicle support for your comfort and safety. While you are trekking ahead with your guide the support team will be busy behind the scene at all time, setting up your bush-camps allowing you to put your feet up and take in the surreal and beautiful surroundings at day’s end. The only requirement for this trek would be a little spirit of adventure. Anyone in an average physical walking condition should have no problem as routes lead through relatively flat grounds.

These Walking / Trekking safari is recommended for 12 years and above.

5. day
Loita Hills and Plains

Day spent on walking safari getting to know the African nature, wildlife and Maasai culture in depth.

After breakfast continue with your second day out trekking towards Masai Mara. The paths will lead you through savannas, bushes and acacia forests. You will cross rivers and track wild game. The amazing scenery here is full of wildlife like antelopes, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes and even the big cats. Your second bush camp will be set under the shed of significant yellow bark acacia trees.

BUSH-CAMPS

Each day your camp will be moved forward to meet you on the way, ready with freshly prepared and hot meals for your arrival. These bush-camps are set ahead of you and moved forward on daily basis by our support team who sets them up in beautiful surroundings of African wilderness. The camps are quite basic, but equipped with everything necessary that you might expect from these rough surroundings. Camping chairs and tables are provided, to be served with hot meals. The tents, you'll sleep in, are 3-man dorm-tents, equipped with camping-mattrace, pillow and bedding. Solar-camping Shower will be organized, except the toilet which will be out in the vast-nature of the Maasai. All you need to bring along is your day back-pack (20lit) to carry your sweat-shirt, jacket and drinking water. All the rest travels with support vehicle and the camping crew.

Loita Hills and Plains - Masai Mara Reserve

Morning walk to meet safari vehicle. Say by to your trekking guides. Continue into the Mara. Afternoon game-drive at Masai Mara NR, with Sundowner.

Your last day of trek will lead you towards Kenya's most well-known wildlife reserve Masai Mara. Before noon after relaxing morning of walk, you should be reaching the main road and meeting with safari vehicle. At that point you'll have to say good bye to your Maasai trekking guides and continue into the Masai Mara National Reserve with first game-drive already enroute to your camp/lodge. Afternoon game-drive till evening with well deserved Sundowner drinks served, following BIG 5 at this world's prime-Wild reserve.

Masai Mara Reserve - Diani Beach

Travel back to Nairobi. FLY to Diani Beach. Hotel transfer followed by beach leisure. OPTIONAL: FLY direct from MARA to DIANI.


After an early breakfast depart on your last game-drive at Masai Mara NR enroute till park gate. Drive back towards Nairobi. Catching your afternoon flight from NAIROBI to DIANI BEACH direct. We'll pick you up from there and transfer you to your beach hotel to enjoy the rest of your holiday on sandy beaches of Indian Ocean.

OPTIONAL: Fly direct from MARA to DIANI BEACH with 14:00h flight (2hrs-flight + 10 to 15 min transfer)!
