Lake Naivasha is at the highest elevation of the Kenyan Rift valley at 1,890 meters. The lake is home to a variety of types of wildlife. As a world class birding destination, Lake Naivasha's swamps and forests are a perfect place to spot over 400 different species of birds, a sizeable population of hippos and playful Colobus monkeys along the lake's shores.

Nearby is the dramatic Hell’s Gate, overshadowed by the mysterious Mount Longonot and at the south west corner of Lake Naivasha, you will find lake Oloidien, a volcanic crater lake.
