Set in Acacia Forest on the southern shore of Lake Naivasha, Elsamere is a bird watcher’s paradise, over 200 species of birds have been recorded and rare species such as the Verraux’s Eagle Owl are regularly sighted. The area is still a haven for wildlife, with its own small troop of black and white colobus monkeys.
Fish Eagles call from the lake shore and hippos, eland and zebra graze on the lawns at night. The Adamson's devoted their lives to wildlife conservation and Elsamere carries on their work. Many of Joy's paintings adorn the walls of the main house and the small museum displays a range of interesting memorabilia.
